2. A Society – One Specific Type or System
When we say a society, we are referring to one particular kind of a human community. We are no longer talking about the abstract concept—we are treating society as a countable noun. It means 'one type of society among many'.
This form is usually followed by a description, a relative clause, or some context that specifies what kind of society it is:

3. The Society – Specific or Restricted Context

If you have already identified exactly which society you are talking about, either by a previous reference or by a restrictive phrase, then the society is correct:
